Here we share some recent servicing and repairs we have done for our travelling customers:
Caravan Service
Service was completed. Brakes were good and the wheel bearings were checked and adjusted. A wiring repair was completed on the trailer plug.
Jayco Conquest Motorhome
A truck service was completed on this motorhome. The 65 point safety check was great . The only issue was the air filter needed to be changed (eaten by rodents) This is the time of year is when rodents like to find a warm place to live and unfortunately this air filter had a big chunk taken out of it. Another reason why regular servicing is important. It enables us to find any problems early before causing major damage to your engine and hip pocket.
2019 Fiat Ducato Motorhome
We have quite loyal grey nomads that rely on us to keep them safe on the roads while they're travelling around Australia.
If they have any issues while travelling, we always point them in the direction of a RAS repair workshop near them. It gives them peace of mind and can helpful with any warranty issues. This motor home is about to take off on a road trip to escape the winter blues. Service and 65 point safety check and special request of fitting solar panels to keep them charged when they are off grid.
Trailer
This trailer belonged to a business customer who needed the trailer back on the road asap. But this could also affect a camping trailer. The wheel fell off and after inspection it was discovered that the wheel bearing was broken. The bearing had collapsed and damaged the hub. A new hub and wheel bearings were supplied and fitted. These issues arise due to lack of maintenance and be a very dangerous scenario and an expensive repair.
1986 Volkswagen Transporter Kombi
The Kombi was towed into us as it was stuck in 5th gear. The gear box had to be removed and stripped. Fault was found with the 3-4 selector hub which was cracked and broken. creating pressure that was jamming all the gears. We supplied and fitted a new 3-4 selector hub and assembly to the gear box and re fitted it to the vehicle.
